Friday 31 october

There was a market in our local town Chantillion. D. Indre. It was only a fish ( bit smelly - long way away from the sea), cheeses and meats. I bought some lovely goat cheese that was wrapped in garlic and mushrooms. Only issue was that I didn't get home for about 5 hours so as you can imagine the aroma was strong.
The village had a castle ruin and had some houses dating bak to 15 th century. A local peasant.

To drive anywhere is so easy as the roads are mainly straight and no cars anywhere we can't work out where everyone is? All the villages look like ghost towns, shuttered up.

As we had plenty of time we visited another town about 1/2 hour away - Chateaureaux. The local shopping malls where there were plenty of shops that were not cheap. Had a coffee and decided it would be nice to spend our last day indulging ourselves.

Linda had seen a restaurant advertised locally so on the way home with the assistance of trip advisor and the sat nav we found it. The restaurant L'Hermitage in Buzancais. What a find.

the menu was in French. With Lindas French and her dictionary we were able to order.

It was a lovely sot , the weather 24 degrees. Linda was following the sun. Tim and I ordered
The set menu for 29 euros in which I had mushrooms in a sauce with an egg , yummy

Tim had scallops and told the waiter "magnifiique" to the waiters surprise, not sure if it was because he said It in French or he didn't agree haha
The main course was guinea fowl and the of ourse the lovely desserts. The cakes and pastries in france are amazing. Tim is in his element.
